And….he walks!

Posted on

He walks! Ben can take quite a few steps now, as long as he knows that we are there to catch him at the end!

I realize a video would have been much more appropriate here… we will work on that.

Yes, he is `cheating` here, but it is a cute pic.

The Box

Posted on

Thanks to a new filing cabinet, we got a nice big box via UPS the other day. We are not so sure that Ben is old enough to play in one quite yet, though…

Daddy leads him in…

Then demonstrates `sitting in the box` so Ben knows what to do.

img_2424

Yeah! Sitting in the box is fun, especially while playing peek-a-boo with daddy !

Adventures with no pants

Posted on

Ben is becoming increasingly difficult on the changing table! Too much to do, too much to do! Most days I do what I can on the changing table, and then finish dressing him on the floor. Sometimes, though, he scoots off before I can finish. Not a big deal, but this was first thing in the morning and it was CHILLY in the house! !

First he put all his books in the proper place (the floor)

…pausing only to admire his handywork.

Then he did a little running…

img_2408

Complete with a drive-by raspberry. Raspberries have been his communication tool of choice as of late…

…and even the dogs are not spared!

The Tub

Posted on

Lately, Benjamin his been fascinated by the tub. We have to be careful that the door is always closed, or he will head right into the bathroom and just, well, stare into the tub. Maybe he is reliving past tubby experiences? Or wondering what the next tubby will bring? Luckily, this time he not only got to stare into the tub, but he actually got to get in it, too!

Shannon`s graduation!

Posted on

Last weekend we went to down for Aunt Shannon`s graduation, and Ben stayed with Poppy and Grandma Margaret for an entire night by himself! He did great… I do not even think he missed his mom and dad!

Sledding, kind of

Posted on

This past weekend we got a nice little snowstorm. Sunday was a beautiful day, so we decided to take Ben for a walk. Since the roads were not quite plowed yet we could not use the stroller, so Josh improvised… img_2367

Yes, that is our child having a grand old time in the laundry basket!

in-the-air

Dad and Ben celebrated on our safe return home with a quick round of `toss the baby.`

The Shelves

Posted on

There are some shelves in the kitchen that used to be for, well, kitchen stuff. Now they belong to Ben. destriction

He loves his books, especially when they are scattered all over the ground.

banging-the-pot

His other favorite shelf-dwelling entertainment is the treat canister that makes a VERY loud noise when banged!

Climbin` and Yellin`

Posted on

Ben is a pro at walking and running behind his walker, so he is adding some new tricks to his repertoire.

climbing-backwards1

Why push it forward when you can climb it backwards?

yelling

Ben likes to yell. Here he is watching me get a bottle together. It is cute now, but I am not sure how we will feel abot it in a year or two….

A little catch-up

Posted on

So….. I am a little behind on the blog. Sorry.

Here is the past few weeks rolled into one big blog post…

img_20861

A few days before winter we got a HUGE snowstorm and Ben got to hang out on the deck for oh, a minute.

Snow out of the way, now we are on to the good stuff. Christmas!

…they kept him entertained most of the morning!

looking-excited

Not too sure what he is looking at here, but I bet it was exciting!

lady-iwith-tree-on-her-head

Lady got into the spirit, too, kind of…

new-snowsuit

Later on, Ben tried out his new snowsuit! No igloos or snowmen yet, but now he can sit there without his butt getting wet!

playing-with-water

The weekend after Christmas April came up, and we celebrated all over again. Ben LOVES his water mat. He splashes all he wants….with nothing for me to clean up. Yeah!

yellow-hat

Super cute hat made by Steph`s dad!

ben-and-april

Ben liked bows, but he liked presents even better when they were decorated with footballs!
