Couch Fort!

Posted on

Josh was home with the boys last weekend, and I’m not entirely sure how he managed to get pics of Zach in a fort without Ben…but he did!

Snow.

Posted on

Note that there is no exclamation point after the SNOW. It’s a little to early  in my opinion….. but they boys were itching to go out in it as soon as they got up (at 5:00 AM)!Ben got buried! He may not look it here, but he was pretty thrilled!

Zach was pretty thrilled, too!

Caught him in action! Seriously, we did not teach him this, and after I snuck a pic we did tell him not too, I swear.

Tubby Time!

Zach does not love his tubbys, so if they are both smiling, the camera had to come out!

The Park, and a Cool New Hat

Posted on

We thought Ben would either love or hate this hat…. and he loves it !

Ben was teaching Zach the best way to slide down a slide.

He approved!!

Ben’s finally mastered the fireman’s pole by himself, too. He was pretty proud and did it about 100 times.

Corn Maze!

Posted on

A few weeks ago we headed over to Moulton Farm in Moultonborough to check out the corn maze and other fall festivities!Zach was VERY interested in the sheep….

…until he got a loud “baaa” right in the face. Then he was not so impressed.

He was pretty sheep-shy from that point on!

And then it was on to the corn maze! Freedom to run is always a good thing!

This was some tall corn , too. Much taller than the corn at Sherman Farm!

Josh had to rescue Zach more than a couple times, since he fit perfectly between those rows of corn! Stay on the trail? Pah.

Help! I’m in corn jail!

Yes, that is dirt on his lip. We really tried to keep him from eating it, honest.

After a while Zach needed a break and had fun riding on daddy’s shoulders!

Even MORE fun, though, is riding on his shoulders and sticking a finger in his ear!

The boys. Had to climb the thing with wheels, of course!

No outing is complete without a bouncy house! Lucky Ben had it to himself!

Zach is still a little small for a bouncy house like this one, but he was soooo excited about it, and there were not any other kids around, so….

He gave it a go!

There really was not much ‘bouncing’ going on, but he loved it nonetheless!

Next on the list was some hula hoop toss. Ben was pretty good at this one!

Zach was pretty good, too, although he preferred to use the hula hoop as a push toy, because all things are push toys in his eyes.

Next, pumpkin bowling! Or, in Ben’s case, pumpkin throwing.

Look at that form!

Zach gave it a try too. His form consisted of yelling and running full speed into the pins. At least he was holding  a pumpkin.

Success!

The sack race! We do this at home, so he was pretty excited to try this on a REAL sack race course! :) Granted, there were no other kids to race…

So that means he won the race! And when you win a sack race, you win a free donut. Not a bad deal!

Zach and daddy finished their donut too quickly for me to get a pic, but he enjoyed the cider almost as much!

Halloween!

Posted on

The skeleton knight and the guitar! Ben has insisted on being something scary, and was pretty happy with what we came up with.

Getting to where we were going to trick or treat was the interesting part. Suits of armor and car seats are not really meant to go together!

Although he was bundled right up, Zach was certainly enjoying him self!

He caught right onto the “if I look cute and knock on the door I’ll get candy” routine, too!

Checkin’ out the loot!

Ben’s mouth was not empty for a loooong time… Don’t worry. He brushed his teeth really well that night. Zach was limited to lollipops. but I don’t think he minded one bit!

Spoooooky Dinner!

Posted on

Halloween starts early in this house! This weekend we had a spooooky dinner for Ben!

We started out with some spider web eggs with Green Goblin Gook….

…(the gook was hand delivered by a goblin while Ben napped…just ask him!)

Then we had some yummy breadstick bones…

Some mummy hot dogs….

And a scary face pizza (I never said it was going to be a *healthy* dinner!)!

When we were done eating Daddy and Ben carved a spooky pumpkin….

Which turned our pretty well!

Zach was not sure if he was happy with it or scared by it…

Ben was of course dressed up all spooky-like most of the night!

And no, this is not actually Zach’s first Halloween, but around here if the outfit fits, we wear it!!!

Next up was a scavenger hunt. I had hoped to get more pics, but Ben flew through it FAST and I did not actually get out the camera until he went outside for the FINAL clue!

He found the treasure!!!

Ben called this is “mad scientist” look. I’m not sure how he knows what a mad scientist is, but it works!

And..finally dessert.  Ghosts!

Everything is better dipped in chocolate, of course!

The First Costume of the Season!

Posted on

As soon as Zach went up for his  nap this morning, Ben grabbed my hand and dragged me into our closet… “Mama! I know what we should do!”

His guitar costume from TWO Halloweens ago was buried in the back…I’m really not sure how he knew it was there. BUT, he was determined to try it on!

Mind you. He’s three and a half and this is an 18 month costume. Amazingly, besides much-too-short legs, it kind of fit!

If you know Ben, you know that no hour is complete without a scary monster face.

Rockin’ out on himself, of course.

Brotherly Love!

Posted on

Ben and Zach are best buds! Zach’s favorite thing to do lately is climb all over Ben, and Ben just looooves it!

Whoa!  He’s on the move!

Hugging your brother is almost as good as climbing on him!

Squeeeeeeeze!!!

Monsters!

Posted on

Fighting monsters is a daily occurence in our house.  Thanks to Ben the Monster-hunter, we stay pretty much monster-free around here!

This day he had left his balloon upstairs, so he had to go rescue it before the monsters got it!
